Hi, I've got a home lab where I have an ESXi 5.1.0 host configured to power on a vm when the host starts up. The host will start up and I'll see the DCUI for a few seconds before getting a purple screen crash. This started after I configured a vm to use PCI pass-through device. I've found KB 2039030 which explains this bug. There is a patch but as far as I know I can't apply it because the host keeps crashing. Now I'm a bit of a newb and was looking for ways to reset the configuration to prevent the vm from powering on when the host starts up. I can't find a way to make this change. I tried the hypervisor recovery mode during boot (Shift R) but I get a warning saying there are no alternate hypervisors to roll back to. So is there a way I can either apply the patch to an offline esxi host (by booting to a knoppix usb key) or make a configuration change so that vm doesn't power on automatically or if needed just reset the whole configuration (again by booting to a usb key)? Thanks!
